your healing
JOURNEY
STARTS HERE
Therapy is great in times of crisis - but it's also great for when life just feels difficult to navigate. In therapy, you will connect with yourself and find healing from within. I use a kind approach to therapy that emphasizes wellness. My promise to you is that I will listen empathetically, provide support, and gently help you process or reprocess life using a trauma-informed approach.

I love to emphasize inner child work in therapy, but I also understand that many people experience unrelated trauma later in life. In therapy, you get to decide what you want to talk about: we can talk about anything + everything, or nothing. You are the expert in your own healing so if there are areas too sensitive to unpack, I will always allow you to discuss difficult subjects when you feel ready. I honor you for showing up with whatever you are ready to process.
My approach to therapy
talk therapy
If you’re struggling with relational difficulties, intense emotions, panic attacks, or suicidal thoughts dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a therapeutic approach that teaches emotion regulation skills, interpersonal effectiveness tools for assertiveness, distress tolerance techniques for surviving crisis, and mindfulness. DBT challenges people to break the cycle of depression by using opposite actions. This means that if you feel like staying in bed, you would challenge yourself to get out of bed instead. If you feel like isolating from the world, you would go out instead. These small changes in behavior can lead to big changes in your mood and emotions!
If you’re struggling with negative thoughts, shame, or depression cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is another evidence-based approach for challenging negative thoughts and encouraging a more balanced way of thinking. CBT teaches that thoughts are not facts; just because you might think you’re doing a bad job, that does not mean you are. If you are hurting, there is hope!
EMDR THERAPY
What is EMDR?
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy that uses light, sound, and vibrations to create bilateral eye movement. In clinical research, EMDR continues to outperform talk therapy in treating PTSD and anxiety.
This eye movement is similar to REM sleep (rapid eye movement). During REM sleep, your brain processes different experiences from the day, committing some to memory, maintaining others, and deciding which ones to delete.
People with PTSD experience nightmares, flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, and other trauma responses as REM sleep is unable to process the traumatic experiences and file them away correctly.
EDMR helps to re-file those experiences, providing clients with some relief from the emotionality and vividness of the trauma.
